Nissan Motor Co., recently made great strides in reducing C02 emissions and improving sustainability in its global activities this past fiscal year. Simultaneously, the automaker was also able to increase its vehicle production and plant energy efficiency as well. The Japanese automaker plans to increase its usage of renewable energy in its global business activities to 9% by the end of the 2016. Through the use of renewable energy, Nissan Mexicana (it’s Aguacalientes A1 plant) prevented 152,800 tons of CO2 from entering the atmosphere – which meant they were able to assemble 460,000 vehicles with wind power alone and 57,400 vehicles with biogas power from the city’s landfills.
