What to Expect from Next Year’s Nissan Micra – Part 3

Interior

Since the spy shoots did not give a precise clarification on what Micra’s interior would look like, the car’s interior remains a complete mystery as of now. The model that is currently available in the market has quite an upscale interior even though it is a mini-size economy vehicle and so there may not be many alterations in this particular department. Even its instrument cluster may remain same as the current model and feature a tiny TFT display in the center. There is a chance that the size of the infotainment screen may become slightly bigger than before but nothing outrageous.

There are some speculations that the basic design will continue to be same inside i.e. to the point, as well as, functional and have a basic console in the center and most of its controls will be integrated in the center stack. Though the initial pictures that could be procured come with plenty of padding and it is difficult to exactly pinpoint the specifics of the vehicle, but from whatever could be seen, the body of the next year’s Micra will be longer than before.

If the available spy shots are compared to the existing model of Micra, you will notice that its front end appear to be slightly longer while the rear end of the vehicle seems to sport a longer overhang. It is also possible that the new Micra’s headlights will also be longer now while being less bug-eyed than ever before. What to Expect from Next Year’s Nissan Micra – Part 1

It was in October, 1982, that the Nissan Micra was first launched in the Japanese car market. The aim of the brand was to compete against the top players at that time namely Toyota Starlet and Honda City and also to act as a substitute for the Nissan Cherry that had started outgrowing the supermini car segment.

Ever since it made its initial debut, there have been 4 different generations. The most recent generation made its debut in 2010. Since then Micra has been given a mid-cycle facelift but then it was time for the overhauling of it’s another generation and Nissan was in a testing phase by then.

But the Micra that is supposed to be unveiled next year is supposed to be a part of its fifth-generation. As of now, it appears that there has been a significant redesign over its prevailing model.

According to some sources, the new Micra will be using a platform called CMF B that has been made within the alliance of Renault-Nissan and is likely to underpin the Nisan Juke’s next-generation models.

It is also expected that the all-new Micra may get inspirations from some of the design cues from its other models such as Nissan Sway concept and Nissan Pulsar that was unveiled at the Geneva Auto Show of last year. Experts feel that this new Micra will be debuting at the later part of this year officially at the Paris Auto Show. However, there is no official declaration made about its release as of now.

Nissan’s Extra Step Toward Top Notch Safety Measures

  • Vehicle Dynamic Control (VDC): Electronic stability Program also defines VDC, which is a computer controlled system that primarily increases the stability of a vehicle by identifying and subsiding traction loss. When the vehicle begins to skid, brakes are applied automatically to steer back the car in the direction the driver was originally on. Brakes are targeted to each tire depending on the need. In a situation of over steer, brakes are employed directed at the outer wheel in the front and onto the inner wheel during understeer. In a few cases, VDC can also regulate the engine output to cut down speed. This technology is identified as the sole reason in reducing the number of fatal accident in the US by one third.
  • Traction control System (TCS): In most cases, TCS is a secondary unit of VDC, but in Nissan Cars it works independently of the same. The mode of action of TCS is to reduce traction when the car loses control. There are interventions that the TCS system deploys during such cases which may be in the form of application of brakes on targeted tires, cutting fuel supply to the cylinders, activating the boost control solenoid and ceasing throttle.

Nissan Intelligent Safety Shield Technologies – Protect

The protect safety shield technologies include:

Why You Need to Buy the Nissan Kicks- III

Two years after its debut in the Sao Paulo International Auto Show, the Nissan Kicks is finally gearing up to hit the market. The car set for release may not be as shiny and sleek as its prototype but is every bit impressive. To meet the initial demand, the car is set for mass manufacture in Mexico.

Drive terrain

Details of the drive terrain of the Kicks are still in the dark. The only information that is confirmed is the horse power offered on the automatic transmission based on the image released of the car. Considering that the Nissan Juke will become obsolete, there are high chances of the 188hp, 1.6L engine turbocharged engine to find a new home in the Kicks. Or, the car manufacturer can alternatively include the slightly less powerful 170hp, 2.5L engine with natural aspirations as seen in the Nissan Rogue. The larger engine may be much likely if the car is set to release in the US market.

Currently the primary sale target of the Rogue is Brazil. This could also mean that the car can be inspired by the Qashqai- 1.6 or 1.2 L fuel or 1.6 and 1.5L diesel engine. The actual information is set to release closer to the release date.

The pricing of the car is another unknown at this point. Considering that the Kicks is a replacement to the Juke, the estimated pricing is around $20,000 range.

Once released, the Kicks will be available at Cardinale Nissan.
