Nissan’s NISMO Division Comes Up Big With The 370Z

nissan-logo

Nissan has a specific division responsible for the creation of their high performance and sport vehicles known as NISMO. This group was created on the three cornerstones of power, agility and technology, and they perfectly incorporate all of these elements into every car. One of the longest standing NISMO models is the Z line, which has changed over the years from its first model in 1969. The latest Nissan NISMO sports car, the 370Z, creates an exciting and exhilarating driving experience at an affordable price point.

The 370Z NISMO Tech starts at a little over $46,000, and is so packed with power and features that Business Insider called it, “…an incredible value for the money in sports cars.” The 350-horsepower V6 engine accelerates the car quickly to breathtaking speeds, while still having the agility and precision that are so critical in sports car design. This is why agility is a major focus area of NISMO, as speed is useless if you can’t safely and effectively operate the car. The design allows for an aerodynamic and stylish look, which is accented by the powerful hood and small spoiler on the back.

The interior also will leave you in awe. Fine leather on the seats with a great color scheme is comfortable and will hold you tight at higher speeds. The infotainment system provides navigation assistance, numerous audio inputs, Bluetooth capabilities and smartphone connectivity. The trunk area even incorporates a hatchback into its design to create enough room for all the supplies for a weekend getaway.

The #NISMO370Z was summed up as, “…easy on the wallet and fulfilling when you put the pedal down and dig into a corner.” This sports car is fast and fun to drive, and you too can test one at Cardinale Nissan, or you can find all of our new 2017 models online at www.cardinalenissan.com.

Keep Connected With Nissan’s Latest Technology

nissan altima 2

One of the newer fields of study in the automotive industry is the theory of connected vehicles. Through specific design choices and software developments, car companies are looking to create connectivity programs that work across all their models. This would allow for a smoother and simpler user experience over multiple cars, not just one. To do this, Nissan has revealed new partnerships and the hiring of over 300 individuals to improve the current systems and integrate them in their newest models.

Just like with social media, cars can allow people to be more connected with each other. By creating user friendly applications such as voice recognition calling and user specific alerts, Nissan keeps people in touch with others even while driving. This means a safer driving experience, as smartphone integration allows access to information without having to look down every couple of seconds or fiddle with a device. Newer Nissan models already allow for the car to inform drivers when they receive a call, email or text so you never miss an important moment. Navigation is also a big focus, as connecting to the latest traffic updates and road closures means you always are on the fastest route.

The biggest change Nissan is trying to make is the idea of a standard technology and connectivity across different companies. This would mean each car’s infotainment or media console works in a similar manner, allowing for an easy transition between different vehicles. People who travel for work or vacation often need a rental car, and a standard design would mean you are able to operate it whether you are in a Ford or the all-new #NissanMaxima.

These innovative design principles are what keep Nissan’s cars at the pinnacle of technology and usability. Come test drive one of our award winning vehicles at Cardinale Nissan, or check us out on the web at www.cardinalenissan.com.

Nissan Partners With Tech Companies To Design Self-Driving Cars

Nissan Kicks Concept Reveal

When it comes to creating technologically advanced features, car manufacturers can only get so far on their own. Most companies are made up of automotive engineers who simply don’t have enough expertise to make new systems such as a self-driving car, at least on their own. That’s why partnerships with other corporations are so important for producing growth within the industry, as they allow for more complex ideas to be added. Nissan recently partnered with several companies to create autonomous vehicles by 2020.

Beginning with a Microsoft partnership in late September, Nissan has continued to push the upper boundaries of car design with their own 300-person tech startup, named Alliance Connected Vehicle and Mobility Services. This group will be conducting research in three major areas: software development, cloud engineering and data analytics. These three have been targeted as the biggest areas that need to be expanded in order to produce self-driving cars, which Nissan plans to launch 12 of by 2020.

Software development is understandably the most important area, as a car’s onboard computer needs to be able to properly use all its features.

Additionally, software is the “driver” of a self-driving car, scanning the road and constantly making adjustments. Cloud engineering and data analytics go hand in hand, as terabytes of data collected from different systems must be processed and examined in order for autonomous cars to “learn” how to drive.  To accelerate both of these, Nissan will be working with the firm Sylpheo as well as the Microsoft Azure cloud platform.

Nissan is always improving its features through these partnerships, and it shows in cars like the Leaf and Altima. Come test drive our advanced cars at Cardinale Nissan, and you can also find our inventory online at www.cardinalenissan.com.

Nissan Hints At New Electric Car Model

Nissan leaf 3

With technology advancing rapidly, car makers are scrambling to adapt to the coming changes. Self-driving and electric cars are the way of the future according to experts, and a number of CEOs have already revealed new research investments and partnerships. Nissan is one of these companies, but fortunately they have been involved in electric car development since early 2010. Nissan recently hinted at the production of a new electric car to pair with the already successful Leaf.

Back in 2010, the thought of an electric car seemed foreign to most people. The limited battery life and weak engine seemed like too much of a trade off from a gas powered car. Early adopters however saw the green potential in an energy efficient and zero-emission machine. Throughout the years the Leaf has evolved, and now sports a battery that can support distances of over 100 miles. Additionally, the engine is much more responsive and the car feels fun to drive. The new #2017Leaf even has new fast-charging capabilities to get you charged back up in a flash.

The rumored new electric car from Nissan will look to fill a void in the current market: family seating. Right now most electric vehicles can only carry around four people, and the cargo space simply isn’t big enough for all the luggage. The next car will likely be a hatchback for the improved trunk capacity, an SUV for a more comfortable seating arrangement and more storage space or a crossover, which would have the passenger space of an SUV but be lighter and more compact.

Look for the all new Nissan Leaf at local dealerships such as Cardinale Nissan. We can help you explore or test drive any of our wide selection of cars, and you can also find us online at www.cardinalenissan.com.
