The Nissan LEAF is by far the top selling electric vehicle worldwide and sales are up by 20% this year. Carlos believes that people are switching to EV’s for several reasons; the first is that they are convenient. They can be refueled at home or at the office from multiple energy sources. Along those same lines, EV’s are economical – even with gasoline prices falling, Consumer Reports recently estimated operating costs of a Nissan LEAF in the United States at 3.5 cents per mile. Lastly, Carlos believes that EV’s are fun and reliable: Globally, the Nissan and Renault EVs have the highest customer satisfaction rates than any same brand vehicle.
