Nissan Titan XD Voted as the ‘Truck of the Year’ in Texas

Nissan 2 XD voted as truck of the year

This year’s ‘Truck of the Year’ award in Texas goes to the Nissan Titan XD for its impeccable design and luxury features. The Texas Auto Writers Association annually evaluates the large vehicle market, and this year, for the first time ever, a Nissan truck won. The TAWA award is a great win for Nissan, in fact, Fred Diaz, Senior Vice President of Sales & Marketing and Operations for Nissan North America, said: “Of the hundreds of thousands of miles driven during the development of the all-new 2016 TITAN XD, the miles driven by the truck experts of the Texas Auto Writers Association were the most critical miles driven to date as we prepare to launch our new truck.”

Nissan Autonomous Driving Technology Explained

Nissan 1 driving technology explained

The Nissan Intelligent Driving prototype car recently took on Tokyo morning traffic and the test drive went nearly flawlessly. Automotive News believes that the way in which the car performed earlier this week, gives a clear indication of what the future will look like for Nissan. On the test drive, Nissan Engineer, Tetsuya Lijima, had to take control of the Leaf-based prototype only once – when they were at an intersection, turning left and there were no lines in the road for the car to follow. “This is not perfect. The driver must be prepared and we must keep the driver involved” – this is one of the biggest foreseen challenges. Even at its early stages, it is easy for the driver to become complacent. Perhaps the most impressive thing about the new technology is its ability to react smoothly and quickly when being cut off. Automotive News said: “The braking was controlled and precise rather than panicked. The car functioned like an experienced driver.”

The Nissan-powered Greaves Motorsport team recently took the European Le Mans Series LM P2 title, after taking home second place. The race was a battle to the very end. The British team ended up finishing behind a rapid TDS Racing Oreca-Nissan which was enough to take the title. In an interview, Gaeton Paletou, Nissan driver, said: “GT Academy taught me a huge amount but being given the opportunity to work with this team, and this brand new car has been yet another fantastic experience. To see this come from a design on a computer screen to our first tests and now this very different car that can race and win at this level has been amazing.”

Post-Millennials Nissan Car Made of Touch Screens

Nissan 1 Teatro for Dayz Concept

Millennials are no longer the latest talked about, Nissan recently revealed that their latest concept car is catered to those born after the late 1990’s – known as the post-millennials. How do you market a car to an entire generation of people whose eyeballs are perpetually glued to a touchscreen? Nissan answers this question by delivering the Teatro for Dayz, which can be described as essentially one giant touchscreen. The car is capable of matching any given mood of its Gen Z passengers. The Japanese automaker reveals that the car is white by default, and when the car is off, all the driver see is a steering wheel, an accelerator, and brake pedals. As this story develops, we will be sure to keep you updated.
