Inspired by aerospace, the Nissan Maxima was unveiled at the April New York Auto Show 2015. Its body resembles a fighter jet and is made to “fly” on the road. Nissan designers visited the U.S. Navy’s Blue Angels to make sure that the final product is a true expression of their coveted aircraft.
Here we list the exterior features of Nissan Maxima that make it a cut above the rest.
- Lowered stance: The Maxima is built to have a more streamlined and sculpted exterior and is thus lowered.
- Floating roof: In keeping with the influence of a fighter jet, the roof of the Maxima gives an illusion of being floated above the cabin. This is due to the melding of the A, B, and C pillars into the glasswork.
- Character lines: Nissan has left no stone unturned to make the Maxima look aeronautical. By developing a special metal-stamping technique, they have added sweeps to its body line and doors making it more jet-like.
- Enhanced lighting: The lights on the front resemble a boomerang with an LED line that is illuminated at all times. The taillights also feature these LEDs. A subtle “4DSC” is embossed in the lamp housings.
- Diamond-cut finish wheels and custom tires: The Maxima boasts of 18” Aluminum alloy wheels that are exclusively designed with a diamond-cut finish. The tires are Goodyear Eagle F1 Asymmetric ones developed specially to give the car a sharp steering response. These features make them stylish as well as functional.
- Exhaust finishers: The exhaust for the Nissan Maxima is made with rolled, chrome-tipped finishers. This not only ensures a smooth ride but also gives the Nissan an elegant and classy appearance.
