The Canton, Mississippi-based Nissan plant not only produced a chart-topping 33,000 vehicles in October, but expects to turn out 350,000 vehicles in 2015. Steve March, VP of Manufacturing, said the plant’s productivity is largely based on the 6,000-member workforce, “The men and women of Canton have really worked hard to get us to this. It hasn’t been without difficulties but we’ve overcome each and every one of them. It shows the commitment that Nissan has in this particular facility. We’re a global player, we’re a big player in the Nissan world, and it’s really important for us today.” The Nissan Titan XD will be one of nine vehicles produced in the Canton plant. The Frontier and Murano crossover SUV are produced on the same line as the Titan. March adds, “There’s no other facility in the Nissan world that has the same level of complexity that we do here.” The 2016 Titan XD is expected to hit dealers by late December.
