Nissan has been working with its battery-making supplier, NEC Corp, since the development of the Nissan LEAF electric car; however, now the Japanese automaker is considering switching from its lithium-ion battery partnership with NEC Corp to enter a new deal with LG Chem. Nissan is reminded that it promised to offer the very best battery packs in the industry – which is why LG Chem is being considered. The South Korean battery firm has revealed that it has a new lithium-ion battery pack that is less expensive and is capable of holding more energy.
