The Nissan Murano is known to be the best vehicle Nissan has made in years. The five-passenger crossover, starting at $30,445, is targeted mostly to empty-nesters looking for a luxury hauler. Families with a tangle of kids and sippy cups will be better served by Nissan’s larger SUV, the Pathfinder. Overall the 2015 edition has a more aggressive and edgier appearance. Nissan cut out the clutter by severely reducing the number of buttons on the dashboard – wood and metal trim add a premium feel. Under the hood, the Murano features a 260-horsepower V6 that is matched with a continuously variable automatic transmission. Nissan has been using the CVT in its vehicles longer than most automakers, but it also had more trouble building one that feels like a conventional automatic transmission.
