Each year vendors from all across the country gather for the Consumer Electronics Show, which happened to be in the first week of January this year. This exciting gathering gives a preview of all the most interesting toys and tech that will find their ways to shelves during the year.  Nissan was one of the car companies who showed up to the event, and they revealed their upcoming changes to the Leaf.

 

The Chevy Bolt EV and the Tesla Model 3 are some tough competitors, but Nissan has spent countless hours into perfecting the ultimate long-range electric car. The new Leaf is just one component of Nissan’s Intelligent Mobility project, which is working on developing more advanced electric and autonomous cars. These two modes of transportation will be the face of driving within only a couple of years, so Nissan is working to get an early head start in the competition. These latest changes all continue to make the Leaf one of the hardest working and most affordable electric cars.

 

On display at the show was a prototype of the upcoming Leaf that included all the new features. The most important additions are the boosting of the range to around 200 miles. This is a big leap from previous versions. It will also include superior handling and a simpler regenerative braking setup so even new drivers will be able to drive an electric car with ease. Also in the pipeline for the Leaf is the implementation of #ProPILOT technology that can will self-drive the car on certain highways.
