Nissan in 2016 will continue in its winning ways and participate in various championships and categories. The car maker has already scalped nine global championships in 2015. It will also augment its customer support. The company’s flag continue to wave in Japan, Australia, North America, and Europe.
Nissan or NISMO has conquered the SUPER GT GT5000 Championship for two successive years. It now intends to make it a third time victory, making it a hattrick. The GT500 Class race will see four Nissan GT-R NISMO GT500 competing in GT500 class. Katsumasa Chiyo is expected to make a GT500 debut. He has already completed a two year long stint in Bathurst races and Blancpain Endurance series. The Bathurst races are 12 hours long.
The new executive director is Toshikazu Tanaka, who was previously NISMO’s Corporate Vice President. He will take over the GT500 team from Kunihiko Kakimoto. The latter has made a large contribution to the GT500 titles. The company has won a total of 12 titles.
The regulations imposed on the series forbid suspension and aero parts development in 2016. The car thus will continue to have identical specification as of 2015. Engine performance, along with the tire will also be increased. Even though the specification of the engine remains same, there were massive improvements to the intake or exhaust system. Both of them will have higher reliability and efficiency.
The Nissan GT-R NISMO GT3 won GT300class championship of Pro and SUPER GT class championship of the 2015 Blancpain Endurance series. Want to test drive a Nissan? Drive down to Cardinale Nissan.’
