Anti-Lock Brake System (ABS) and Electronic Brake force Distribution (EBD) are important response safety mechanisms. All Nissan cars available at Cardinale Nissan come with these features.
- Anti-Lock Brake System (ABS): Also known as Anti-skid braking system, ABS is a safety mechanism found in most cars and bikes that refrains the tires from entering a lock down state when sudden brakes are applied. When the tires lock into place, there are great chances of skidding and traction. The ABS system regulates the cut in speed by intermittent locking and releasing of the tires by contact with the brake pad. ABS is a life-saver on slippery roads when the friction is reduced in the first place. Currently, the ABS system is implemented on all the wheels. The controller in use is also known as the Controller Anti-Lock Brake. The system includes an ECU, two brakes (hydraulic) and sensors on the wheel that keep track of speed.
- Electronic Brake force Distribution (EBD): Another braking technology that is implemented in Nissan cars is EBD. This system regulates the pressure applied on each tire depending on the traction predicament on individual tires. EBD and ABS work in sync with each other to bring out the best results. When both these systems are deployed together, the vehicle is brought to halt faster with least traction and chances of going off the road. EBD works by optimizing the design of the brakes in terms of temperature stress, pedal force, stability and wear.
