Check Out Nissan’s Latest Direct To Grid Electric Car System

Nissan has always been an industry leader in electric car technology. From releasing the first economic electric car to designing the first battery that can propel an electric car for over 100 miles, Nissan is always pushing the boundaries of technology. The company’s latest experiment has been more focused on creating efficient and emission free solutions for business, including a brand new fleet of test cars at their research facility in the United Kingdom.

At the Nissan Technical Centre Europe, Nissan is working on a new direct to grid integration system for its electric cars. This small project consists of eight company vehicles that are always charging. When an employee needs to travel for whatever reason, they are able to use these electric cars to get to their destination and back. The range on the cars is ideal for short trips into town or to meetings that employees are headed to, and being electric cars they produce no harmful emissions. Additionally, this system ensures the cars are always charged and ready to use, unlike a gas powered car which will need to be refueled after a couple of trips.

The most critical part of this system is its direct grid integration. Because of this, they can both receive electricity as well as give it back in times of greater stress. These cars essentially act as extra electrical storage for the entire grid, while still operating like a normal car whenever necessary. Vice President for Vehicle Design and Development David Moss added, “it gives us the opportunity to showcase to the world how the energy management systems Nissan is developing can work in a real-life business situation.”

Electric cars are rapidly becoming the way of the future, so head down to Cardinale Nissan for a look at the Nissan Leaf. We also have a great selection of the newest Nissan models, and you can find us online at www.cardinalenissan.com.

Nissan’s Safety Shield Technology Adapts Quickly To Road Conditions

Every time you go for a drive you should feel confident in your car. Confident in the ability to navigate through the city and highway smoothly and rapidly. Confident that your car has been designed and engineered to be reliable and powerful. But most importantly, you should be confident that the safety features can keep you and your fellow travelers out of harm’s way. With Nissan’s patented Safety Shield technology, you can put your mind at ease knowing the system dedicated to monitoring, responding and protecting.

Monitoring is the first major feature of the #SafetyShield system. Without this step, the car would not be able to react to or even identify changes in the car or the environment. The car monitors the weather conditions and proper tire inflation, as well as warning the driver of dangerous situations. This includes technology such as predictive forward collision warning and blind spot warning, both of which adjust to how nearby cars are moving.

Responding does exactly what the name suggests: reacting to the evolving conditions that the monitoring system detects. This means in the event of an impending forward collision it can brake the car if the driver does not react to the alert themselves. This is crucial for avoiding accidents. This system also includes features like traction control for troubling weather and brake force distribution which accounts for extra passenger weight.

Finally, Nissan’s design choices include several airbags and head restraints to minimize the impact of a collision and protect loved ones. Nissan cars also include both a LATCH and SNUG system which work with child seats to keep them safe.

Nissan is always working to keep you and your family out of harm’s way, so come test drive the new Altima or Maxima at Cardinale Nissan. You can also check out all our safety features online at www.cardinalenissan.com.

Nissan’s NISMO Division Comes Up Big With The 370Z

Nissan has a specific division responsible for the creation of their high performance and sport vehicles known as NISMO. This group was created on the three cornerstones of power, agility and technology, and they perfectly incorporate all of these elements into every car. One of the longest standing NISMO models is the Z line, which has changed over the years from its first model in 1969. The latest Nissan NISMO sports car, the 370Z, creates an exciting and exhilarating driving experience at an affordable price point.

The 370Z NISMO Tech starts at a little over $46,000, and is so packed with power and features that Business Insider called it, “…an incredible value for the money in sports cars.” The 350-horsepower V6 engine accelerates the car quickly to breathtaking speeds, while still having the agility and precision that are so critical in sports car design. This is why agility is a major focus area of NISMO, as speed is useless if you can’t safely and effectively operate the car. The design allows for an aerodynamic and stylish look, which is accented by the powerful hood and small spoiler on the back.

The interior also will leave you in awe. Fine leather on the seats with a great color scheme is comfortable and will hold you tight at higher speeds. The infotainment system provides navigation assistance, numerous audio inputs, Bluetooth capabilities and smartphone connectivity. The trunk area even incorporates a hatchback into its design to create enough room for all the supplies for a weekend getaway.

The #NISMO370Z was summed up as, “…easy on the wallet and fulfilling when you put the pedal down and dig into a corner.” This sports car is fast and fun to drive, and you too can test one at Cardinale Nissan, or you can find all of our new 2017 models online at www.cardinalenissan.com.

Keep Connected With Nissan’s Latest Technology

One of the newer fields of study in the automotive industry is the theory of connected vehicles. Through specific design choices and software developments, car companies are looking to create connectivity programs that work across all their models. This would allow for a smoother and simpler user experience over multiple cars, not just one. To do this, Nissan has revealed new partnerships and the hiring of over 300 individuals to improve the current systems and integrate them in their newest models.

Just like with social media, cars can allow people to be more connected with each other. By creating user friendly applications such as voice recognition calling and user specific alerts, Nissan keeps people in touch with others even while driving. This means a safer driving experience, as smartphone integration allows access to information without having to look down every couple of seconds or fiddle with a device. Newer Nissan models already allow for the car to inform drivers when they receive a call, email or text so you never miss an important moment. Navigation is also a big focus, as connecting to the latest traffic updates and road closures means you always are on the fastest route.

The biggest change Nissan is trying to make is the idea of a standard technology and connectivity across different companies. This would mean each car’s infotainment or media console works in a similar manner, allowing for an easy transition between different vehicles. People who travel for work or vacation often need a rental car, and a standard design would mean you are able to operate it whether you are in a Ford or the all-new #NissanMaxima.

These innovative design principles are what keep Nissan’s cars at the pinnacle of technology and usability. Come test drive one of our award winning vehicles at Cardinale Nissan, or check us out on the web at www.cardinalenissan.com.

Nissan Partners With Tech Companies To Design Self-Driving Cars

When it comes to creating technologically advanced features, car manufacturers can only get so far on their own. Most companies are made up of automotive engineers who simply don’t have enough expertise to make new systems such as a self-driving car, at least on their own. That’s why partnerships with other corporations are so important for producing growth within the industry, as they allow for more complex ideas to be added. Nissan recently partnered with several companies to create autonomous vehicles by 2020.

Beginning with a Microsoft partnership in late September, Nissan has continued to push the upper boundaries of car design with their own 300-person tech startup, named Alliance Connected Vehicle and Mobility Services. This group will be conducting research in three major areas: software development, cloud engineering and data analytics. These three have been targeted as the biggest areas that need to be expanded in order to produce self-driving cars, which Nissan plans to launch 12 of by 2020.

Software development is understandably the most important area, as a car’s onboard computer needs to be able to properly use all its features.

Additionally, software is the “driver” of a self-driving car, scanning the road and constantly making adjustments. Cloud engineering and data analytics go hand in hand, as terabytes of data collected from different systems must be processed and examined in order for autonomous cars to “learn” how to drive.  To accelerate both of these, Nissan will be working with the firm Sylpheo as well as the Microsoft Azure cloud platform.

Nissan is always improving its features through these partnerships, and it shows in cars like the Leaf and Altima. Come test drive our advanced cars at Cardinale Nissan, and you can also find our inventory online at www.cardinalenissan.com.

Nissan Hints At New Electric Car Model

With technology advancing rapidly, car makers are scrambling to adapt to the coming changes. Self-driving and electric cars are the way of the future according to experts, and a number of CEOs have already revealed new research investments and partnerships. Nissan is one of these companies, but fortunately they have been involved in electric car development since early 2010. Nissan recently hinted at the production of a new electric car to pair with the already successful Leaf.

Back in 2010, the thought of an electric car seemed foreign to most people. The limited battery life and weak engine seemed like too much of a trade off from a gas powered car. Early adopters however saw the green potential in an energy efficient and zero-emission machine. Throughout the years the Leaf has evolved, and now sports a battery that can support distances of over 100 miles. Additionally, the engine is much more responsive and the car feels fun to drive. The new #2017Leaf even has new fast-charging capabilities to get you charged back up in a flash.

The rumored new electric car from Nissan will look to fill a void in the current market: family seating. Right now most electric vehicles can only carry around four people, and the cargo space simply isn’t big enough for all the luggage. The next car will likely be a hatchback for the improved trunk capacity, an SUV for a more comfortable seating arrangement and more storage space or a crossover, which would have the passenger space of an SUV but be lighter and more compact.

Look for the all new Nissan Leaf at local dealerships such as Cardinale Nissan. We can help you explore or test drive any of our wide selection of cars, and you can also find us online at www.cardinalenissan.com.

Nissan Rolls Out New Autonomous Car For Testing

Self-driving cars are the way of the future. Numerous studies and many experts all agree that soon we won’t have to drive ourselves to work each morning. Now you can enjoy your coffee and music in comfort as the car adapts to the road and other drivers on its own. But how soon will these cars be available? Surprisingly, Nissan has already developed an autonomous car that will be out for testing in Japan in the coming year, named the #ProPILOT.

While an autonomous car still needs a small amount of user input, it’s the nearest thing on the market right now to a true self-driving car. The Nissan ProPILOT is a small car that was designed to navigate on highways in single lane traffic. The system is made up of a number of cameras and sensors that monitor how the cars in front and behind are adjusting speed. It’s easy to turn on and off with a simple switch and will help ease the stress of gridlock highway traffic.

Interestingly, the ProPILOT technology is already in testing right now, but in a form that you may not expect: chairs. You might have seen a short video with some chairs that move on their own and transport people as they wait in line (if not just look up Nissan Autonomous Chairs). These chairs are designed from the same technology and can automatically follow the chairs in front of them at a programmed distance. This can make waiting in line easier and much more comfortable.

Nissan works hard to create the most advanced technology every year, and you can expect the same standard on all the current models. So come test drive a new Nissan Altima or Leaf for yourself at Cardinale Nissan, or check out all of our vehicles online at www.cardinalenissan.com.

Break Away From Traditional Sedans With The Economic Nissan Versa

In the large world of sedans, there is no shortage of various makes and models. In fact, the market has been so flooded with these compact cars that it can be hard to stand out from the others. But standing out from the competition has never been difficult for the Nissan Versa, which has received upgrades to its design and features in 2017.

The #NissanVersa, which is available in both a sedan or a hatchback, is a long standing veteran that has proven itself to be worth much more than its low price point would initially suggest. The Versa is one of the most economic sedans right now, with a low base price and a fuel economy that won’t tax your wallet, having an estimated 31 city and 39 highway mpg. This is due to the engine, which is equipped with continuously variable transmission to output a solid 109 horsepower, perfect for this lighter car.

Nissan has worked over the years to upgrade the interior, expanding the back row of seats in order to make more room for passengers and cargo. The Versa easily fits passengers into its small but deceptively spacious design, and it also received a brand new grille and swept-back headlights for a bolder look reminiscent of the larger Altima, another one of Nissan’s best-selling models.

To enjoy a test drive in the Nissan Versa or any sedan in our extensive line-up, visit with our friendly sales team at Cardinale Nissan. You’ll find top of-the-line deals and great service from our staff, and you can also visit us online at www.cardinalenissan.com.

The Future Of Driving Is Just Around The Corner With Nissan

When it comes to designing new features for drivers and developing the latest high tech models, Nissan is always pushing the limits. Trucks like the Nissan Titan have the easiest to work with and most responsive towing systems, and sedans like the Nissan Altima dominate the class due to their design and utility. At the annual Paris Auto Show, CEO of Nissan Carlos Ghosn unveiled the secrets to the future of Nissan cars, and left the audience in wonder and excitement.

The latest development is Nissan’s partnership with Microsoft, which had been previously announced but was expanded on by Ghosn. He added that the duo would be hard at work to better integrate vehicle software and compatibility across all models. While automakers do not necessarily have experts in vehicle software, Microsoft engineers can help to improve the user interface and make driving simpler and seamless. This partnership has already shown promise with the introduction of better smartphone connectivity in the latest 2017 Nissan cars.

The second major talking point was the production of self-driving cars, which Nissan has already had success with in Japan through their ProPilot. Though this vehicle is only partially autonomous, Ghoson mentioned that Nissan plans to release at least 10 different partially self-driving cars by 2020, even if they do require minimal driver input. He expects a fully driverless car will be on the market by 2025. He also argued that the car will still remain a personalized space for every owner, even with this automated implementation.

Though self-driving cars won’t be available for another few years, you can be sure the whole Nissan fleet has the latest features and most useful technology. Come test drive any of the new line-up at Cardinale Nissan, or check us out online at www.cardinalenissan.com.

The New Leaf Adds More Efficiency And Charging Speed

With Chevy having unveiled the specs for their new Bolt and Tesla and continuing to pump out improvements, many have been speculating when Nissan would announce the changes to their electric car, the Leaf. Well, wonder no further. With the 2017 update, Nissan has broadened the mileage range and updated the charging speed with a new 30-kWh battery pack.

The #NissanLeaf was the first economic electric car available, and it has continued to evolve in efficiency, speed and reliability over its iterations. For 2017, the previous 24-kWh battery pack was expanded to a 30-kWh battery which enhances the range from around 85 miles to a powerful 107 miles. This is easily enough for most Americans’ daily needs, which is typically around 30 miles. Even when bringing around the kids to and from school and heading to work, the total distance is well within the driving range of the Leaf. And in order to help those who want to take longer road trips or vacation drives, Nissan has some exciting developments.

The latest Leaf has DC fast charging technology standard across the whole lineup, which can energize you up quickly while on the road. Additionally, many companies, including Nissan, have invested heavily into constructing new fast charging stations in cities all across the country. This way, powering back up is fast, easy and cheap, especially with Nissan’s new program which will give new Leaf owners free charging at these locations for two years. Say hello to saving money on gas and electricity!

To take part of the quickly growing electric car craze, come down to Cardinale Nissan for an exciting test drive. You can also find us online at www.cardinalenissan.com.
