Nissan’s New Rogue Exceeds Expectations In First Drive Test

The first drive is a critical test for a new or redesigned car. Each year various review sites and blogs are provided with a little sneak peek and test drive in order to prepare their first impressions of the car. These early evaluations when published are the first thing people will see when looking online for a new car. Many of the 2017 models have undergone this test, and the reception of the Nissan Rogue has been overwhelmingly positive.

The #2017Rogue has been long due for a refresh since its last one in 2014, and now it has returned with a great new look and the latest features. The grille has high power LED lights and a more fitting hood, along with classy lenses for the front and back lights. Additional chrome around the rocker panels and a sculpted bumper add to the stylish and sporty look. During the first drive, reviews praised the car for improved noise reduction for a smooth and quiet ride, along with the stunning new interior featuring a redesigned wheel, leather seats and great cargo flexibility. Nissan’s one of a kind Divide’N Hide system even has 18 different ways to store or hide belongings and baggage to keep valuables protected.

The most enticing aspect of the new Rogue is the optional hybrid engine. While it restricts the car to only two rows of seating rather than three, the engine provides top-of-the-line fuel economy and money saved on gasoline. Ultimately, the first test drivers at msn.com commented, “…there’s almost nothing to deter us from recommending the Rogue wholesale, thanks to its all-around proficiency at doing things that crossover shoppers love.”

Nissan Finds Innovative Uses For Electric Car Batteries

Electric cars seem to be all the buzz these days. Every company is racing to develop the most efficient and longest lasting battery that still can move the car on the highway. This is great if you want a sedan or small SUV, but they won’t cut it for bigger vehicles like pickups. They simply don’t provide the torque or off-road power required to get the job done. That’s not to say they can’t be integrated somewhere in truck design though, and Nissan has been researching some interesting ways to make use of these powerful batteries.

At the 2016 IAA Commercial Vehicles show, Nissan proudly displayed some innovative uses for these high capacity and lightweight charge packs. The rear of a truck bed can be fitted with a pair of portable battery packs that have a large capacity and are recharged by the engine. Each one features a set of lithium-ion battery cells that can power two 220-volt AC sockets and three USB ports.

The batteries are best thought as a more powerful portable generator for the dedicated outdoorsman or laborer. They can energize power tools and other electronics, giving workers an easily accessible source of electricity. It is extremely beneficial for groups like rescue teams that need power for communications equipment deep in extreme environments. In addition, the batteries are much safer than normal portable generators because they don’t need any flammable liquids that produce dangerous fumes.

Look for these packs to show up soon in pickups like the #NissanTitan, and head on down to Cardinale Nissan for a great deal on any of our trucks or other models. You can also always sift through our wide inventory online at www.cardinalenissan.com.

Nissan Unveils A New Race Track Edition Of The Popular GT-R Model

When it comes to the best sports cars, each company works hard to find the right engine and design that really makes the car come alive. For Nissan, its flagship #GT-R model that recently appeared in March has already been a top seller, thanks to its sleek design and exhilarating drive. This car has shown such incredible success that Nissan has recently unveiled a new Track Edition which further tweaks the car to provide better sport performance.

The Track Edition was designed by Nissan’s NISMO racing division, which excels in developing race ready cars. The crew managed to fit in some more horsepower and improved stability. The engine is a hand-assembled 3.8-1 twin-turbo beast that power out 562 horsepower and 470 lb-ft of torque, surpassing the engine in other GT-R models. This provides the best in acceleration and speed.

To make this extra power go as far as possible, Nissan altered the design in order to make it as aerodynamic as possible, minimizing the impact of any wind. The straight-line stability and cornering ability has been adjusted to keep the car on the ground when making the tight turns found on many roads or tracks. Nissan also installed bespoke Bilstein Damptronic suspension and an anti-roll bar which stiffens up the car but ensures the it stays on the road. After all, what is the point being able to go fast if it isn’t safe?

This GT-R track version will first be exclusively available in Europe, but Nissan has plans to transition that market to America at dealerships like Cardinale Nissan. If you are in the market for a new sports car, come test drive the Nissan GT-R in any of its forms for a unique driving experience.

Nissan Rocks The Hannover Motor Show With A New Truck

With the 2017 model year vehicles heading out to dealerships, it’s never too early to look at what 2018 may have in store. At least, that’s what convention-goers of the 2016 Hannover Motor show should have on their mind, as Nissan unveiled a new concept truck named the Navara EnGuard. The truck has a unique look that suits its off-road design, and is anticipated to be its own car or a preview of the #2018NissanFrontier redesign.

The EnGuard appears to be in the same design family as the Frontier, but also draws on the Double Cab design of the Nissan Navara, a truck currently only offered in Europe. This truck is the ideal model to base a Frontier remodel from, considering it holds the current title of International Pick-up Award. The latest Navara has a 2.3-liter 187 hp twin-turbo diesel engine to haul even the heaviest loads, while still managing off-road terrain.

The EnGuard model has a host of improvements from the Navara that would further enhance its off-road capabilities. The base of the truck has been lifted in order to provide improved clearance when navigating uneven areas, and the wheel arches have bespoke overfenders and side steps between them. The roof also has also risen, and the interior sports a navigation system and dual-zone climate control. Lastly, a 360-degree camera provides a bird’s eye view of the surroundings to avoid the need to exit the car to view nearby obstacles.

Look for this new development to hit dealerships late next year, and for now check out the 2017 Frontier at Cardinale Nissan. We can help you find a vehicle to best suit your needs and wants. To view our entire inventory, visit www.cardinalenissan.com.

Nissan’s New Maxima Reinvents The Popular Four Door Sports Car

Manufacturing and marketing a sports car can be difficult business. Most people are seeking power and thrill when driving a sports car, with smooth and quick acceleration. But one of the main disadvantages of most sports cars is their limited passenger seating and implementation of a two-door system. After all, why wouldn’t you want to share exhilaration and thrill with as many friends as possible? That’s why Nissan has created the all-new 2017 Nissan Maxima, appropriately named “the four-door sports car”.

The Nissan Maxima is a sports sedan that trades a minor amount of sleekness and weight for numerous features and much more spacious passenger seating. This year’s redesign has primarily worked to improve the interior features and add more luxury options. The base model has a brand new audio system, as well as an eight inch display to combine audio, Bluetooth, navigation and satellite radio in an easy to access location.

The Maxima is available with three potential upgrade packages depending on the model: Medallion, Dynamic and Midnight. The Medallion tacks on a stylish spoiler, 18-inch wheels and accent lighting for the interior and ground. The Dynamic also sports a spoiler and larger wheels, along with illuminated kick plates and side rocker moldings. The Midnight package creates a brand new look to the car with a sport spoiler, gloss-black wheels and charcoal colored interior seats. The Maxima also comes with Zero Gravity seating manufactured from high quality Ascota leather that also accents other interior features such as the steering wheel.

Look for this popular fusion of sport and spaciousness at Cardinale Nissan, along with other great Nissan models. Let our Sales and Finance experts get you into the car of your dreams!

Electric Nissans Help To Keep An Island’s Air Free From Pollution

People are always finding inventive and exciting ways to make our planet a little cleaner. Whether it’s using LED light bulbs or using less water, every little bit makes a difference. Recently, the Channel Island Jersey post office in the United Kingdom has been playing their part by switching to an all-electric fleet of Nissan eNV200 vans, and are reducing carbon emissions by almost 35 tonnes per year.

Channel Island is a small but thriving group of islands off the southern coast of the UK, of which the island of Jersey is the largest. This localized area is the ideal place for any electric car to make an impactful difference. Electric cars operate best over many shorter drives rather than a single long distance, and with the Nissan Leaf leading the industry in mileage per charge, this fleet of vans based on the Leaf’s design are perfect for replacing the average diesel post-office truck. The 100-mile range is easily enough to power these cars through a day of delivering mail on such an island.

These vans have other upsides along with emitting no carbon. Electric vans are much more economical than diesel vans, featuring a great warranty and as well as more robust engine. Electric engines are more reliable and break less than regular engines, meaning less maintenance that could disrupt important mail service to businesses and people. The Director of Operations of the post office Andy Jehan summarized, “the vans are…ideal for the short distance, stop/start driving that the job involves.”

To test drive the Nissan Leaf, the inspiration and technological foundation for the eNV200 vans, visit our great sales team at Cardinale Nissan, or check out our full inventory online.

Nissan Looks To Artificial Intelligence For Future Car Designs

Car design is an art form, and remains essential to establishing a brand. Every manufacturer has its own individual lines and shapes that let consumers to distinguish different companies, much like a painter’s brush strokes. However, with the recent push for more and more features and tech, creating an all-encompassing design has been slowly increasing in difficulty. Because of this Nissan is taking a big step forward into creating an artificial intelligence that can design a car on its own from pictures and design limitations.

Imagine this: a company needs to add a USB port for charging or playing music to the center display. Sounds easy right? Unfortunately, you can’t just place it anywhere; it needs to be easily accessible, not displace another button and wiring and software needs to be installed to make it run correctly. Every change affects the entire design, and this stage where Nissan’s AI steps in. A computer can much more easily determine the adjustments and added stress that will be put on the vehicle from any change, and with enough data can even account for this by altering materials or moving other parts. This would happen in a matter of minutes, while a human would take much longer.

While this AI is currently in the testing phase, results look promising. The computer has already been able to design a never before seen car, and while it was not perfect, it’s a great head start.

To take a look at some of Nissan’s cars designed by human engineers and test drive their creations, pay us a visit at Cardinale Nissan, or see our full inventory online. We want to be your dealership!

The Nissan Rogue Has A New Hybrid Option For 2017

2017 is looking to be a great year for changes and new takes on car models. While many companies have named 2017 as the “Year of the Truck”, and there does seem to be a focus on the pickup class, not everyone requires a truck for everyday driving. Many people are on the hunt for family sedans or SUVs that easily fit five and still have space for groceries and luggage. That’s why Nissan has been hard at work reinventing the 2017 Nissan Rogue, and recently unveiled their changes at the Miami Auto Show.

The Nissan Rogue is an SUV that has always offered the best in family travel. The brand new Rogue has a number of improved safety features, including integrated fog lamps and more powerful rear lights to clearly illuminate your path. The on-board computer has been updated with a Safety Shield system to work to increase driver awareness. This technology constantly monitors the surroundings for pedestrians and can automatically brake if a collision is predicted. The lane departure warning system is also helpful for eliminating accidental drifting on the highway.

The 2017 Rogue has three optional trim levels that all offer the choice between front-wheel or all-wheel drive. The most exciting trim level available for the first time is a Rogue Hybrid, which combines the small SUV design with a fuel efficient and clean electric and gasoline hybrid. This engine provides a chart topping 33 mpg city and 35 mpg highway to ensure you get the most out of your refueling stops. This hybrid is an improved 5 mpg over the regular engine, and has lower emissions. Come stop by Cardinale Nissan to test drive a car an SUV that’s perfect for any driver. We have a great selection of new and pre-owned vehicles, as well as an award winning service department to keep your current ride running beautifully.
