Nissan recently took the covers off the Gripz model at the Frankfurt Motor Show and it has received very good feedback so far. The Gripz is part car, part coupe, part hybrid, part rally car. The Japanese automaker drew in inspiration from the 240Z Safari rally car and is considered Nissan’s first crossover model ever. Shiro Nakamura, Nissan’s Senior Vice President for design and Chief Creative Officer, explained how the crossover can quickly turn into a performance model. The driver has the ability to switch driving modes at the touch of a button; the car can go from EV mode to 4×4 mode in just a matter of seconds. Additionally, the Gripz can go from off-road model to Drift mode, which triggers the heart of the Gripz to give you the same feel as a rear-wheel drive sportscar. Cardinale Nissan is keeping a close eye on this model and we hope it goes into production soon so that we can see it on our lots as early as next year.
