One of the greatest reasons to live in a California county like Monterey is the staggering amount of nature and beauty that surrounds us. From twisted Monterey Pines to playful otters, everything is filled with life in the parks and natural sanctuaries you can find nearby. Whether you enjoy playing the water at the sandy beaches or pushing yourself on a long nature hike, the sheer variety and number of activities means there is something for everyone at these parks. At Cardinale Nissan, our incredible selection means we also have a car to meet everyone’s needs, and these are some of our favorite parks to drive them to.

Monterey State Historic Park
While it’s not as much of a nature park as many of the others we have in Monterey, the State Historic Park provides at the oldest buildings still standing in the county. The Path of History is open to the public at any time, and it includes 55 various houses and locations of historical significance, including the Custom House, the oldest building in the state. There are also several adobes that you can enjoy a tour of with the help of a State Park Guide, who will be happy to help you relive the lives of the earliest Monterey citizens.

Salinas River Wildlife Refuge
For a more traditional park that focuses on nature and the creatures that inhabit it, the Salinas River Refuge offers a perfect view of both. The Beach Trail begins at the parking lot and circles around to the ocean, and is an easy walk at only 1.6 miles. Along the way you may get a glimpse of birds or other small wildlife enjoying the dunes, and down at the waterfront there are almost always otters playing in the ocean.
Our Monterey car dealership offers an incredible lineup of new and used Nissans that is also a sight to see. From the 2017 Nissan Altima to the legendary Nissan Rogue, it’s easy to find a car to love in store or online at www.cardinalenissan.com.
